Shop Woman-Founded Brands at Anthropologie

Women have made innumerable strides in being empowered to create innovative businesses that solve problems and improve the lives of their customers. Although we could celebrate every day, we're excited to have a dedicated day to celebrate each other! Co-founders Cherie Hoeger and Amber Fawson built Saalt on the belief that everyone deserves access to clean, affordable and sustainable period care. We are thrilled to be among many amazing companies at Anthropologie that are offering innovative and modern products. As a company, we are very proud to be a woman-founded business creating products that will allow all menstruators to take more ownership over their own bodies. In the words of Beyoncé, who run the world? Girls. This International Women's Day, we encourage you to go and check out some of our favorite woman-founded businesses at Anthropologie. These brands are some of the first in their field to do what they are doing, from skincare to probiotics. We love these brands, and believe you will too.

1.) Follain

Tara Foley of Follain

Follain was founded by Tara Foley and opened its first flagship store in 2013. It is a pioneer in the beauty world; the first retailer ever to sell clean beauty exclusively. Tara dove into the clean beauty world over 10 years ago and has never looked back. She has built a business with the values of transparency in ingredients and honesty with customers, making sure they leave with the best products for their specific needs.

Follain has launched several products in its own name-sake line; moisturizer, toner, body oils, hand soaps and more. They have continued to innovate and grow, setting the industry standard for clean beauty retailers and opening five more brick-and-mortar stores outside of the original Follain in Boston.

2.) The Beauty Chef

Carla Oates of The Beauty Chef

Carla Oates founded The Beauty Chef after learning, first hand, that beauty begins in the belly. As a teenager, she struggled with eczema and allergies, but when a naturopath reset her diet it changed her skin from the inside out. The very first Beauty Chef product was GLOW, the world's first living, bio-fermented probiotic that changed the way the beauty world looked at gut health. The Beauty Chef's products are designed to help users balance their microbiome and get their gut in check.

Oates has been at the forefront of changing the beauty industry and encouraging others to take care of their bodies. Since its inception, The Beauty Chef has maintained the belief that for glowing, healthy skin you must start from the inside.

3.) Fur

Laura Schubert and Lillian Tung of Fur

Fur came into existence when Laura and Emily Schubert and Lillian Tung realized that there was nothing on the market for body hair grooming, only removal. Their products are made without toxins, silicones, parabens and are dermatologically and gynaecologically tested, so you know that they are safe for your most sensitive areas.

They have been able to open up an entire category of products that just a few years ago, did not exist at all. Since its launch, fur has launched oils, scrubs, and creams all designed to better care for your body hair. They are changing the way people talk about their bodies and grooming.

4.) Knours

Julie Park of Knours

Knours was founded by Julie Park, who began her career in beauty as a distributor of top Korean beauty brands. In 2017, after members of her family faced severe health struggles she began doing her own research into toxins and how they are in everything, from foods, beauty products, and even the air we breathe. From her research, she learned that toxins can affect our hormones and in severe cases even cause cancer. That is when the idea for Knours, hormonal skincare, was born.

Knours is the very first brand of its kind. Their skincare follows the menstrual cycle and is developed with the endocrine system in mind. For each different phase of your cycle, a different product is recommended to you, to best match your current hormonal balance. They have expanded into products for menopause and maternity as well.

Looking at these brands - Follain, The Beauty Chef, Fur, and Knours, inspires us at Saalt. Each started with founders, all women, that saw a need and met it with determination, grit, and grace. This International Women's Day we encourage you to shop women-owned businesses and to celebrate all of the women in your life for the amazing things they are doing.
