How much can your period panties absorb?

Saalt leakproof panties absorb between 1–10 regular tampons' worth of flow, depending on the absorbency level you choose: Light, Regular, Heavy, and Super Absorbency. The variety lets you customize your protection across different days of your period. 

For example, Super Absorbency styles hold 8+ tampons or 6+ pads' worth of fluid. Styles in Light or Regular Absorbency are great for light-to-moderate days and also work well as backup protection with a menstrual cup.

Can I wear period undies for things besides my period?

Absolutely! Period underwear is designed to be versatile. Our period underwear collection supports your body through different stages and situations:

  • Use as postpartum underwear that provides comfort and leak protection.

How do I wash and care for reusable period underwear?

Following a few simple steps will help preserve the absorbent technology and the overall fit: 

  • After each use, rinse the underwear in cold water until the water runs clear. Hold off on using hot water until after you’ve rinsed the blood from the panties; heat can set blood stains and make them a lot harder to get out.
  • Place the rinsed underwear in the washing machine with similar colors and wash on a cold, gentle cycle.
  • Hang the underwear to air dry whenever possible to keep the absorbent gusset in great shape. If you need to use a dryer, choose low heat only.
