If you have not used a cup or a disc for period care, you are missing out on so much freedom! No more stockpiles of supplies in your bathroom, purse, car. Insert and go! Done and done.
Wow, I love this disc as much as my cup! I tried other discs that were too soft to get in or put pressure on my cervix. I can barely feel this one and have had zero leaks. And love that you have two sizes so I can use the small for my light days. Amazing!

The disc is definitely one of my new favorite period care items! So comfortable, so easy, and it's so cute too. Helps make that "time of the month" seem like any other day!

Love the disc I purchased! Such life changer! Wish I had known about it years ago. I could have saved myself the hassle of forgetting to bring an extra pad/tampon, bleeding through my clothes, the menstrual odor, rashes from the pads, oh the list goes on! Thank you for providing a storage bag! Definitely comes handy in between uses.
Suggestion: the outer ring seems a little stiff, not sure if it would compromise the seal but a thinner, softer outer rim would be more comfortable.
I used diva cups for over a decade and started to get sensitive to the suction. This is a game changer! I was a little skeptical that I had put the disc in properly, I don’t notice it at all and haven’t had any leaks!
Love these period products! They’re comfortable, reliable, and do exactly what they’re supposed to. Great quality for the price, and I would definitely recommend them to others!
This is a great, thoughtful product! Saalt honored the Bliss Guarantee when the cup did not work for me, and the disc works really well. I also really like that the company donates period care products to girls who may not have access to them, so they don't have to miss school.
I used the Saalt cup for the last 2 years and was already sold for life on reusable period products. However, I was never fully leak proof while using a cup. With more research I learned a disc would better suit my anatomy, and now I’m like “where has this been all my life??” The insertion is easier, the capacity is larger, and best of all - I am completely leak free. The only downside is no more ceremonial cup dump, but it’s a worthwhile trade for staying dry. 😉
I actually found this using ChatGPT. I knew there was many options out there nowadays for how women when caring for periods and I was having issues with pads, tampons, and the menstrual cup. the pads, I feel like are outdated technology. Once you try a menstrual cup you realize you were sitting in a smelly diaper all day.
When I discovered menstrual cups, they were total GameChanger, but after my last birth, the menstrual cups were not fitting the same way they were falling, low restricting, urine flow, causing a lot of discomfort. So I tried to go back to tampons and they found the tampons were just unsanitary because when you have to urinate, the string gets peed on and you either change that or have kind of another gross situation going on. so i was really on the search for something that would allow me to feel the freedom that I felt with menstrual cups, but not have the issue of it sitting so low like the menstrual cup. that’s when I found about the discs. The salt disc was recommended because of its soft flexibility. it took a little bit to get the hang of it, but by the third day of my period it pretty much had figured it out absolute GameChanger never going back.
I was nervous about switching from the cup to the disc, but my experience was so smooth it almost felt too good to be true! I was able to insert and remove easily the first time, and experienced no leaking! It also lasted longer than the cup. I appreciate all the videos and instructions saalt makes available to make it super simple to use!
Super comfortable and I am thrilled with their customer service. I tried the large at first, and was having some leakage and discomfort. They sent me a small to try and it fits perfectly. I love the all day comfort and no leaks!
After years of research, decided to try this disc. Finally don’t have to worry about tampons giving me cramps and excess bleeding or pads giving me a rash! Nice to have another option. Perfect once you pass the learning curve. Bought one for my mom also and she loves it too!
I started with the regular sized blue disc and couldnt get it to a comfortable spot even after years of using and loving the cup. I ordered the smaller disc and that ended up being perfect for me and Ive had no issues. After using during my first cycle I actually prefer the disc to the cup now!
Easiest five star review. I wanted to try a menstrual disc for sustainability reasons, but honestly I would recommend it purely for the convenience. It's so easy to forget about it while it's in, and I only have to take it out twice a day. This is my second month wearing the disc, and I've never had a leak (even on my first use). I like to wear a pair of period underwear if I'm wearing the disc just in case, but so far I've had no leaks! They can be a little weird to insert and remove, but not too bad, especially if you're used to using tampons. This doesn't have all the complicated features of a diva cup, and it's pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it. They also save so much room (no more tampon / pad drawer) and so much money, too! And it's great to have some peace of mind knowing I'm not adding to a landfill while using this.
I'm currently living in a dorm, and it can be a little awkward to take it out and wash in a multi-stall restroom (I'm always scared someone will walk in haha), but I usually just find a single-stall bathroom and it's fine.
Overall, I love it! I've been recommending it to all my friends. :)
I've been using the Saalt cup for the last few years, but needed to try something else after my period changed this year. Generally just needed something with a bigger capacity since my cup would fill up and leak wothin 3-4 hours at work! So I decided to try menstrual discs since they're supposed to be able to hold more. Honestly, I was surprised at the difference! First of all, it was a lot easier to insert and put in. I was a little worried that I'd have a hard time finding my pubic bone to tuck it in, but it was pretty obvious once you try. It was also soooo much more comfortable than the cup. Normally, I feel the cup pressing against my insides, which made me feel like I had to poop a little or made peeing feel a bit. With the disc, I barely feel a thing! Not to mention that it did solve my problem— I went the whole 12 hours on my heaviest day without leaking. It probably did help that the cup autodumped when I used the toilet (which was a little surprising the first time). Overall, really happy with my purchase and I'd recommend the disc for those with heavy flows or even as your first reusable menstrual product :)
I am glad that I was open to trying this menstrual disc, because it ended up being the best addition to my menstrual care methods. Years ago, I did purchase and use the regular fit Saalt menstrual cup, but had too many instances of leaking. So, I stopped using it and went back to tampons and pads. When I decided to move away from using tampons, I circled back around to Saalt, and saw the menstrual disc. I have gotten one use out of it since it arrived. I do like the fit, ease of use, and there is less chance of leaking because it sits so closely to the cervix. 10:10 would recommend.
Very comfortable, cannot feel it at all. Very mobile and easy to use (both put in and take out). Great coverage so far (but still learning how to use it.
I love the saalt disc!! I was using a diva cup for years and it would almost always leak no matter what I did to the point it was so annoying. I took Put a Cup in it disc quiz (https://putacupinit.com/disc-quiz/) and it led me to the saalt cup! (Highly reccomend buying through the company vs. Amazon) First use and 0 leaks and the videos/info online was very helpful for insertion. Now I can be worry free :) It's also very cute and what a good company/cause.
The disc took a couple days to get comfortable with (specifically with removing) but it is life changing! I am so happy that I tried it, I will never use tampons again.
I've used this product now for almost 2 years and I love it ! I don't have to worry about leakage, chemicals, buying or changing out feminine products every few hours.. 😁
First time disc user and had no issues inserting, but removing it was quite the adventure. I have long nails so I do think that is why I struggled so much, but I have to say "bearing down" is where all the success comes in!
This was the MOST COMFORTABLE experience I have ever had on my period. Once it was in, I never felt a thing and could easily have forgotten about it. I love the convenience of only having to remove and clean it twice a day! I will never use anything else!!
And for those interested - use during sex was stressful at first because I didn't know if I would feel it move or if my husband would feel it, but neither of us noticed it at all. This was on my heaviest day and it didn't even leak! 10/10 Saalt disc!
The Saalt disc is definitely a game changer when it comes to menstruation. I no longer constantly worry that I will bled through my tampon and pad combination, deal with several long and messy bathroom trips over the course of the day, or lug around stacks of tampons and pads while still wondering if it will be enough. After a few cycles on the disc I will never go back! To be transparent, there is a learning curve, but after I was able to better understand my own body and figure out the best method for disc insert and removal for my body, I totally understood the hype and appeal of menstrual discs. My only recommendation would be to do your research ahead of time. I opted for the disc over the cup for a few reasons but I am glad I did and also glad I understood what those differences were. All in all, I love my Saalt disc!
once i figured out the size i needed and after getting used to emptying the device, i love it! i spend a lot of time on my feet at work and can’t always take time to use the bathroom. it helps being able to have it in for longer than a tampon!
This is my first time using a disc. I used to love my cup from another company, but after having my son I found it just didn’t stay up. This disc is AMAZING. It inserted easily and stayed in place. I couldn’t even tell it was there! I’m completely sold.
I hadn't gotten my order. As soon as I emailed them that it hadn't come two months later, they quickly sent me a new one and I received it within that next week. I love the Saalt Disc and my cat does too. Which is why I had to buy a new one because my cat chewed it up! So make sure you keep it nice a locked up and secure if you have a cat!
I’m honestly very impressed with this product. It’s comfortable, easy to use, and once you get the hang of inserting it, it makes your period routine so much simpler.
I've been holding onto this for a couple weeks, somehow almost excited for my period to come so I could try it! Definitely a bit of a learning curve the first couple insertions, but it's getting so much easier even over the couple days I've used it so far. I'm sure as time goes on, it'll get even more intuitive. I love that's it's super flexible and comfortable once inserted. Love that it's lower tox and more eco friendly than typical tampons. Definitely a Saalt disc convert!
I've been using menstrual cups for about ten years now. And although I've always heard of menstrual discs, I've never actually tried one. After using one, I can confidently say that I definitely prefer a disc over a menstrual cup! It's super flexible, so it's really comfortable when wearing. It's very easy to insert and remove, and holds more than a cup as well. If you haven't tried one I highly recommend you do. I don't think you'll regret it!

FAQs on Saalt Menstrual Discs
What is a reusable menstrual disc?
A reusable menstrual disc is a flexible, internal period care product that collects rather than absorbs menstrual fluid. Unlike cups or tampons, discs for periods sit tucked behind the pubic bone at the base of the cervix. This suction-free placement makes it ideal for those with bladder sensitivities, a weak pelvic floor, or a high or low cervix. Made from 100% medical-grade silicone, the Saalt Disc is FDA registered, soft, odor-free, BPA- and latex-free, and designed for up to 12 hours of leak-free protection.
Disc vs. cup: which leakproof fit is right for you?
Menstrual cups are bell-shaped and sit in the vaginal canal, forming a gentle seal below the cervix—great if you prefer structure and have pelvic muscle strength to support it. Menstrual discs rest behind the pubic bone, don't rely on suction, and feel barely-there. The Saalt Disc holds up to 6 tampons' worth of flow, making it a solid choice for those seeking the best menstrual disc for heavy flow. Either way, both options support your body without compromise. Learn more about menstrual disc vs. cup.
How do you successfully insert a menstrual disc?
Sanitize your disc for period use by boiling for 4–5 minutes before first use. Get comfortable—sitting on the toilet with legs apart works well. Pinch the disc into a figure-8, insert horizontally toward your tailbone, then push the front rim up behind your pubic bone. When secure, it should feel like nothing. It may take a try or two to nail it, but you'll get there. Full instructions here.
What are some helpful tips for mess-free removal and cleaning?
Removing and learning how to clean a reusable menstrual disc can be surprisingly simple. Here are some practical tips to help you get started:
Wash your hands.
Relax and sit on the toilet with knees apart.
Hook a clean finger into the removal notch, gently pull down to untuck, and remove horizontally to avoid spills.
Rinse in cold water, then wash with a pH-balanced cleanser like Saalt Wash.
Sanitize between cycles by boiling for 4–5 minutes or using the Saalt Steamer.
Store in the breathable bag provided, never in an airtight container.
Can you travel with your menstrual disc?
Absolutely. The Saalt Disc is slim, lightweight, and fits easily in a carry-on or backpack. Pack the Saalt Travel Kit for on-the-go cleaning; it includes a squeeze bottle, compact sanitizer, and Saalt Cup Wash. No need to rearrange your itinerary around your cycle. You've got this, wherever you're headed.
What is Saalt's commitment to global impact?
Saalt donates 1% of revenue to improve menstrual health, education, and sustainability worldwide. As a Certified B Corp, we're held to the highest standards of social and environmental performance. So far: 158,000+ products donated, 705,000+ periods served, 34+ million waste products diverted from landfills. Every purchase supports access, equity, and a healthier planet.
